WOMEN'S INSTITUTES

KIMBERLEY'S MEETING The monthly meeting of the Kimberley Women's Institute was held recently with Mrs. J. Dorne occupying the chair. Apologies were received .from Mesdames Kissane, Neas and Pickering. Mrs. Dorne gave a report of the recent - group rally and final arrangements were made for the federation council meeting, to be held at Paekakariki on October 23. Mesdames Dorne and J. Griffith were elected delegates to act at the meeting. It was decided to hold a stall of saleable goods next month, the proceeds to go to the leper fund. Mrs. L. Griffith and Mrs. Haley were the winners of the hall competition. The usual monthly comoetitions were won as follows: — President's jug of polyanthus: Mrs. Field 1, Mrs. McLean 2, Mrs. Benning 3. Best flower: Mrs. J. Griffith 1, Mrs. Evans 2, Mrs. McLean 3. Best spray of flowers: Mrs. Crowe i, Mrs. Evans- 2, Mrs. Field 3. After the serving of afternoon tea by the hostesses, "Mesdames Saint and Small, the meeting was brought to a close with the singing of the National Anthem.
