GOERING PREFERS DEATH BY FIRING SQUAD
NUREMBERG JUDGMENT ON TUESDAY Received Friday, 12.30 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 26. Goering told ins lawyer that if he is sentenced to hanging he will appeal to the Allied Control Council i'or death before a liring squad, reports the Daily Express' Nuremberg corre.spondent. Goering added: "Hanging is so disgraceful." The War Crimes Tribunal's judgment is expectecl on Tuesday but the fate of the individual prisoners will not be known until the final hours. A suggestion that there is disagreement among the Judges is flatly discounted. Arrangements have been made for the Premiers of the three provinces in the American Zone, also the Mayor of Nuremberg, to attend. The Tribunal has ordered the Gennan counsel, Court ofncials and prisoners' relatives to observe secrecy concerning the prisoners' activities, health and reactions, it is believed, to prevent prejudicing public opinion.
