NEW BUSINESS PREMISES

A shop, etc., which will be an acquisicion to Otaki, and which will fl.ll a long-felt want, is at present ; being erected for Messrs. McBeth and Sons in Main Street adjacent to their present shop. Mr. W. Foster is the contractor and expects to hav.e the work completed within t0n weeks The building, r which will be an imposing structure, will be in brick measuring 37ft. 6in. x 21ft 6in. Foundations will be in concrete, while the interior will be fitted out in up-to-date style. Besides the shop there will be a factory-'for 'the manufacture of small goods and t'wo of the latest coolers. The dimensions of the shop will be 20ft. by 18ft. Messrs. McBeth and Sons, who have purchased the area from the present shop to Mr. J. Royal's old business premises, intend to build a block of shops in reinforced concrete, all up-to-date, with living quarters, The building will be of attractive design, and should cerfcainly give the town a more up-to-date and progressive appearance. The building will- have all the latest flttings, etc. It will be however, some time before this work will be commenced on account of the building regulations and lack of material, but Messrs. McBeth will iose no time in having it proceeded with when opportunity offers.
