Reeeived Tuesday, 10.40 a.m. / LONDQN, Sept.' 16. No solution has resulted from the talks between the Palestine Hig'k Commissioner, Sir Alan Cunningham, and the chairman of thp Arab Higher Committee, Jamal Husseim, on the Arab representation at the London conference. This is ofRcially confirmed in jerusalem. Meanwhile three members o.f the Jewish Agency flew to Paris from London to-day for a hurriedlysummoned executive • conference, and well informed Jewish sources piedict that the result of the meeting wili probably be Jewish participation in the Palestine conference. Addressing the conference today, Mr. Bevin emphasised that the British Government was pf the opinion that the plan fo^' provincial autonomy was a fair and work^ble cne, whieh could lead to a final solution of the problem. Mr. Bevin added that the Government would consider any counter-proposals by the Arabs or Jtws, but at the moment provincial autonomy remained the basis of discussion. Mr. Bevin referred to the possibility of eventual trusteeship under United Nations. The Arabs requested an indefinite adjournment to enable them to study his statement, and the conference adjourned.
