Library Books Damaged
"It is with regret that I have to report further acts of vandalism in the Levin Public Library," said the librarian (Mrs. M. Whitaker), in a report to a meeting of the Levin Borough Council last evening. "New copies' of periodicals are cut and damaged, cuttings are taken from newspapers and books, and sometimes recent additions are cut and torn." The Mayor (Mr. H. B. Burdekin) said he just could not understand such vandalism. Cr. H. E. Bowen said the librarian hoped to detect some of the offenders. "If s-he does, we should mgke an example of them," added the Mayor.
