Reeeived Saturday, H a.m. PARIS, Sept. 13. M. Vyshinsky (Russia) has sent. a letter to Mr. Egeland, chairman of the Italian Committee, replying to a protest from the Italian delegation against the passage of his; sp.eech saying the Italians were better at running away than fighting. M. Vyshinsky describes the words, as a gross distortion, and says that, in his speech he referred tO; certain events in 19.15 as showing that. the belauded Italian generals, sueh as Graziani, Messe and the like,. were more used to running than" fighting. Mr. Egeland nas distributed the letter to members of all delegations. Reuter's says that reporters at the committee meeting heard the conference translation, speaking in English, quote M. Vyshinsky as using the phrase complained of by the Italians.
