TO OPPOSE MR. FRASER

WELL-KNOWN SOLDIER AND SOLICITOR WELLINGTON, Sept. 5. Mr. Stewart Hardy has been selected National candidate to oppose the Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) for the Brooklyn seat at the forthcoming election. Mr. Hardy, who is aged 40, is a well-known barrister and solicitor who has been practicing on his own account in Wellington since 1929. He served in Greece, Crete and Egypt with the 6th Field Regiment of the New Zealand Artillery and on being invalided home was chief instructor of the field wing at the School of Artillery. He was an executive member of the Wellington R.S.A. in 1945-46 -and is now; chairman of the Second World War sub-commitfcee.
