A report on the con- ; ference recently held in Wellington j was given by- Mrs. R. Roberts. Mrs. : J. A. Easton also spoke on the iactivities of the conference. Following the reports there was. a idiscussion on the results of the j remits. Mrs. D. Fitzgerald explaiiv- : ed the working of the Country jLibrary Service and the advantage of it. A financial statement. was read by the treasurer .(Mrs. C. Stern) . Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames E. Chester and E. Thorne, after which a visitor i from Levin gave an interesting 1 demonstration " on faggoting and 'displayed some flnished articles to I show the decorative possibilities of j this work. A group of members | agreed to work for a W.I. display ' at the Levin A, and P. Show, Mrs. j D. Fitzgerald being appointed to i make arrangements for this effort. 'Mrs. R. Roberts was thanked for j making and donating an article for ;the sale table at the recent conj ference. It was decided to order 12 W.I. badges for several members who were requiring them. Competition winners were: — Something for Father's Day: Mrs. J. Sinclair. Shrub: Mrs. A E. Tremewan 1, Mrs. C .Stern 2, Mi'S. R. Roberts 3. Bloom (single) : Mrs. C. Stern 1, Mrs. C. Veale 2, Mrs. J. I Sinclair 3. Cluster: Mrs. Stern 1, Mrs. Sinclair 2, Mrs. Veale 3. I Thrift article: Mjrs. Sinclair. The 1 social competition for the day was j won by Mrs. R. Lang. The comipetition for next month is.a sultana loaf.
