AUSTRALIAN TENNIS PLAYERS INVITED
WELLINGTON, Atlgitst 29. A11 invitation to a team comprising leading Australian players, to tour Xew Zealand in the coming season, was agroed upon by delegates at the annual meeting of the Xew Zealand Lawn Tenuis Association tonight. Mr. A. G. Henderson said the proposal was to play matehes against the provinces or against Xew Zealand, in about three i-entres, and also to liold an invitation tournanient exteiuling over f'our davs in which 12 leading Xew Zealand players would take part with the Australians. From inquiries already niade there were excellent prospects that soiue of Australia's hest players would be coming. It was decided to recomniend to the management committee that entries for tlie New Zealand championships be limited to (54. 11 was state'd tlie reason for the liuiitatiou was to prevent undue cluttering up of the entry by loeal players and also to ensure the championships being eoinpleted within the seven days allotted. The new regulations previously cireulated to associations, to replace those formerly governing the Wilding Shield and Nunneley casket, wero adopteu."
