SHANNON BASKETBALL CLUB
A special meeting of the Shannon Basketball Club was held on Monday. evening. /The object of the Iheeting wi.s to dfscuss ways of raising sufflcient funds to send the local representatives of the Horowhenua team to" compete in the forthcoming tournament at Rotorua. It was pointed out that over £25 would be required to send Shannon's players to the tournament. After some discussion it was decided to hold a shop day on Friday, September 13. Further discussion t.ook place in connection with the posslbility of constructing a court at Shannon in time for next season's fixtures. It was decided to with-hold the matter in the meantime, and call a general meeting of all interested in the welfare of the sport in the near future.
