SHANNON BOWLING CLUB
PREPARATION S FOR SEA$ON A meeting of the Shannon Bowling Club was held last' week for the purpose of electing the president and secretary for the coming season. The election of these otficers was held over from the annual meeting in June. ' Mr. E. Spencer was elected president1 and Mr. V. J. Bateman secretary. All members were high in their praises of the work done for the club by Mr. R. Bibby, the retiring president, and Mr. H. Norris, retiring secretary, and each was " extended a vote of thanks for their valued servicps in the past. The officers of the club for the forthcoming season are: — President: Mr. E. Spencer; vice-presi-dent: Mr. F. Edmonds; secretary: Mr. V. Bateman; • green-- superintendent: Mr. R. Hook; delegate to bowling centre: Mr. H. W. Bovis (Palmerston North) ; hon. audit'or: Mr. J. T. Bovis; greens committee: Messrs. S. Morrison,' A. Birss and L. Hook; selectors: Messrs. A. R. Mills, L. Hook and R. Bibby. It was decided that the date for opening the coming season should be held over pending a report on the condition of the green by the , green committee.
