Turkey has firmly informed Riissia -that -she eanhot a'ccept the Sov-iet suggestion that the talks for the revision of the Montreux Convention should h'e con'fi'ned to 'the Black Se'a statiss, says Reuter'S Anko'ra cdrrespdhdent. 'The reply nejeoted absolutely the suggestion that Russia should share with Turkey in the defence and control of the DaTdanelles. Turkey will agffee to -diseuissions on th'e convention 'only at the ihtemational conference, at which al-1 .states Concerned ana the Allies will be repres'ented. ' The Turkish note was handed to the Soviet Charge d'Affaires. It is reported to have been drafted after consultations with the British and American Ambassadors.
