Williams, has b'een 'caSh'iered ahd sentenced to one yeafs' hard labour f ot converting to his own use property which should have bee'n turned over to the arffry authorities. Williams was aSsistant proVost marshall in Batavia durin'g field secur'ity ratds 'which recovered part of a hoard of -gold and jewels estimated to be wo'rth £1,500,000, and which a Japanese, Colonel Nakamura, stole when Japan surrendered. The Dutch Government will try several Dutch civilians on charges arising out of the handling of the hoa.rd. ^
