Rosemary Swartrick, aged 12, of Preston, partially Plind since she was i'ourteen and totally "blind for ten months, is now able to read the smaliest print and thread a needle, as the result of a remarkable operation at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospitai. The cornea was removed from the eye of a wounded soldier and from tne eye of a civilian, and grafted on to replace Rosemary 's weak ones. She now works efficiently as a waitress.
