Advice has been received that the condition of Miss J. W. White, who was admitted to the Palmerston- Nor.th Hospital following. her falling into a fire at the Ihakara School on Monday, is now satisfactory. The extent of the burns is not as serious as was formerly chought. The Rev. Robert Chisholm, M.A., B.D., of Scotland, was chosen as New Zealand secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society at a meeting of the Dominion Council. He succeeds the Rev. David Calder who retires in December. The Rev. Mr. Chisholm is general secretary to the National Bible Society of Scotland.
