RUGBY ADMINISTRATION

MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The usual fortnightly meeting of the management committee of the Horowhenua Rugby Football Union was held last Tuesday evening, when there were present: Messrs. A. A letter was read from the Athletie Club asking for permission to play several games with outside teams. — It was 'decided to grant permission for all games to be played, but it was pointed out that the club must fulfil all its obligations in all club and representative matches. It was decided to have programmes printed for the representative matches with Manawatu on Saturday, and that the price for them be 6d. Mr. J. D. McFarlane was appointed referee for the senior match and Mr. S. Graham for the third grade game. Mr. R. Sands was appointed manager of the senior team and Mr. H. Boul- : ton the third grades. September 14 was the date decided on for the final of the senior i champjonship. It was resolved to write to the Athletic Club informing them that notice had been brought to the union that they had been playing G. Pratt, a player who had already been refused a transfer, and that the union viewed this with grave displeasure. It was also pointed out that representatives of Athletic would .have to appear before the union, stating why the club should not be suspended. It was also decided to award the Athletic v. Foxton match, played last Saturday, to Foxton .on. account of Athletic playing college players. Mr. V. J. Bateman brought ; before the cpmmittee the matter ■ that earlier in the year the Shan- . non R.S.A. had applied for a match ; to be held and the proceeds to go ; to the Shannon R.S.A. memorial • hall building fund. — The matter was left to the Eoxton and Shan- ; non Clubs to arrange a match, the • proceeds to go to the Shannon and Foxton R.S.A.'s.
