ON THE LINKS AT BUCKLEY Another wet Saturday prevailed at Buckley, when a stroke competirion was helcl. About sixteen piayers commenced the round, but aeavy rain interrupted play and many retired to the clubhouse. The jafds of the six piayers who comYleted the eighteen hoies were as x'ollows: ¥. Picard 1Q-, W. Stern 70, K. Thomson 74, T. Downes 84, R. Downes 73 and H. Stern 72. On Sunday a fourball bogey was play-. ed, the winners being J. Mabey and W. Stern. "Top Dogs" The "top dogs" competition was taken a stage . further during the week-end, when the holders, J. Mabey and W. Stern, were successful in defending their title against a challenge from R. S. Downes and H. Karena, the score being six up and four to play. Goldfinch and Cousins' Cup The following isc the draw for ihe third round of the Goldfinch and Cousins' Cup: H. Stern v. D. Higgie, V. Picard v. N. Mabey, R. Collins v." N. Birch. K. Thomson and H. Pope have yet to play their second round match and C. Stern will piay the winner.
