WELLiJN (jTUJN , AUg. iu. The president of the Wellington Retailers' Association, Mr. C. D. A. George, predicted that the removal of saies tax from price goods would alleviate the shortage of readymade goods, because it would remove the penalty on those able to make their own clothing. It was impossible to forecast, he said, what effect the cuts in saies tax would have in prices in the shops, because the change v/ould be gradual as present stocks were sold.
