j ' ' c BLENIIEDM, Aug.-ll. In a hard fought game dominated by two rugged packs. Marlborough (holders) beat Buller 5 — nil in the second Seddon Sliield match of the season. Play was never speetacular, the backs either crowding the wings through laek of penetration or mishandling at the critical moment. Marlborough 's trywas the culmination of a long siege of the challenger's line, late in the first spell, when Taylor, first live-eighth, who played a heady game throughout, received from the scrum and slipped ' from a tackle to clive over near the posts. Ile converted his own try. A feature of tli-e game was the tussle be- ' twem the front rankers, Ilegglun and Unuim, both of wiiom have made the South Island team. Marlliorough held a distinct territorial advantage throughout.
