HOROWHENUA SHOW

MEETING OF COMMITTEE PREPARATION OF SCHEDULE A meeting of the general committee of the Horowhenua A, and F'. Association was held in Levin recently when there were present: Messrs.. J. A. Kilsby (chairman) , F. O. Malcolm, J. Blenkhorny S. B. Mexted, H. J. Lancaster, Rex Mexted, K. Knight, R. W. Evans, C. E.. C. Webb, R. Law, G. D. Harrrs, B. Mungavin, A. R. Macfarlane, J. W. Gimblett, C. H. Arcus, A. M. Scott and P. R. Catley. ' Apologies were received from Messrs. G. W. Munford, D. C. Blake, S. W. Barber,.W.. Moynihan, C. Adkin, A. R'. Bryant and G. C. Knight. As there was a vacancy on the committee as a result of the death of Mr. A. S. Macfarlane, the chairman stated that the member to be appointed should- be the unsuccessful member who gained the most votes at the election at the annuaL meeting, and that member was Mr. B. Young. There being no other nomination the chairman declared Mr. Young elected. The chairman again spoke on the setting up of a town committee, mentioning various activities that such a committee could take over. Advertising, trade exhibits,. schools, schedule committee and highland dancing were some of the sections which he thought most suitable. Several members supported the chairman, and it was decid'ed to form a committee to meet the fcownspeople when a meeting was called. A committee consisting of Messrs. Kilsby, Webb, ~ Lancaster, Evans, Harris and S. B. Mexted was then set up. Owing to the inability of obtaining the Oddfellows' Hall on the second Friday in each month, the chairman suggested that meetings be held on the first Friday, this date meeting with the approval of the majority of the members.

The ram fair committee was asked to call a meeting of the different breeders with reference tovarious questions concerning the ram fair.
