Mr. Sarajoglu's Government has unexpectediy resigned and General Inonu has asked Mr. Redjep Peker, who resigned from the Ministry of the Interior for health reasons in May, 1943, to form a new Cabinet. It Is expected that not half of Mr. 'SarajoghPs Ministers wiil find piaces in the new Cabinet. Heavy voting for the Opposition Democrat Party in the . first free elections a fortnight ago is reported to have shocked the Government. The voting was regarded as a dem©nstraii»n of the nation's dissatisfaction with the Government's mternwl policy, particularly excessive living costs and restrictions. Prices in some instances soared 1000 per cent. above the 1939 levels.
