INVERCARGILL, Aug. 2. An offer by the Invercargill Licens- , ing Trust to the Salvalion Aririy^ Band of £5tt, has been declined "with thanks". Adjutant Pauling stated that moneys derivod as direct proiils from the liquor trade could not be accepted. The money, he said, could well be used. Tlie band instruinents were old and i members were buyiug their own uniforms and paying into a fund for the purehase of instruinents. They would carrv 011 with Ihe long term arrangemenit for tlie purehase ot' new& eqitip ment. "When we sejl Ihe War Crv in hotels, " Adjutant Pauling added, "a different principle is involved. Tlie monov is a personal donation which would otlierwise go to litjnor trade profits. We ap]ireeiate the Trust Is offer but must respeetfullv decline. "
