The Douglas Aircraft Company ha^ announced that a C74 named Glohe master, took off from- Long Beach .Ualrfornia, with, a gross load of 172, OOv. pounds, reported to , be the greatest weight ever to leave the earth undei the power of a plane. It also became the first to lift a disposable load greater than its own empty weight. The Glohemaster can circle the world , with only two stops.
