Mr. J. R. Hanan has been selected as the National Party candidate for Invercargill. Mr. G. F. MT. Stewarf, who had also been nominated, w'ithdrew his nomination at a mqeting of the Invercargill electorate corpmittee of party. Mr. Hanan' is ' a solicitor and was Jylayor of Invercargill when he joined the Army in 1940.- He served with the N.Z.E.F. 'for abo.ut four years. Mr. P. L. Mitcheh, who Uas been on the staff of the Levin Railway Station for the past eight years, has been transferred on pyomo.tion to Wellington as* as.sistant trqin control op.erator, and will leave with, Mrs. Mitche.il on Tuesday next to take up residepce there.
