FAREWELL EVENING

MR. AND MRS. GIRSON . . . HONOURED A pleasant function was held at Koputaroa on Wednesday evening, when a large number of residents gathered in then settlers' hall to farewell Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Gibson. Mr. Gibson has »urchased a farm in another part of the district. and with Mrs. Gibson is moving there to reside in a few days. Dancing was the chief form of entertainment and all present cntered into it. with zest to make the time pass quickly and happily. At a suitable interval Mr. R. S. Brown, on behalf, of the residents of' the Koputaroa district, presented Mr. and Mrs. Gibson with a silver cake stand, and wished them every sqccess in their new venture. Miss C. M. Fitzgerald made Mrs. Gibson the recipient of a pretty bouquet.' An enjoyable evening was brought to a close with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
