NATIONAL CANDIDATE FOR OTAKI
MR. W. ,T. CRAWFORD TO SEEK NOMINATXON Recently indicating his intention to stand as an independent National candidate for the Otaki electorate, Mr. W. J. Crawford, oi Palmerston North, has now decided to seek setection through the National Party. Mr. Crawford said that after reviewing all the circumstances he had come to the conclusion that he could do more to oust the socialist Government from office by standing for the National Party than he could as an independent. "This is my sole aim," he added, "and I feel that my decision is sound, and will be universally approved of . in the electorate/' , Nominations for the seat clpse at 5 p.m. to-^ay, ^,nd :it is.unde^stood thatj seven 'oi" ;eight candidaies' are offering. It will then he for thfe National Party to make the final selection, and this will take two or three weeks.
