BUS AND CAR COLLIDE

• ■■ • ^ YOUNG MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED There was a collision between a bus and a car on the Village Settlement section of the main southern highway on Friday night about 11.40 p.m., as a result of which a young man, Mr. Robert Blackburn, of Levin, was seriously injured. The accident occurred a short distance south of the Kimberley Road crossing. The bus, owned by Messrs. Watts Motors, Ltd., was being driven south to Manakau by Mr. M. Wills. Mr. Roy Blackburn, who had his brother, Mr. Robert Blackburn, as a passenger, was the driver of the car, which was turning off the road into the gate to their home when the accident occurred. Mr. Robert Blackburn was thrown out and underneath the car, receiving serious injuries to the hip. After medical attention he was removed to the Palmerston North Hospital.
