METHODIST LADIES' GUILD

MEETING OF MEMBERS A meeting of the St. John's Methodist Ladies' Guild was held recently in the parsonage, Mrs. A. C. Kennerley presiding. The meeting began with a hymn followed by a Scripture reading and a reading from "A Thousand Sunrises," by Rita Snowden. After prayer, missionary letters were read by Mrs, Andricksen. A period of silent prayer on behalf of missionaries and workers at home and overseas was observed. Mr-s. Kings led the next prayer. It was reported that 24 parcels were packed and sent to England by the ladies of the church on July 18, and 46 garments, 34 new and 12 repaired, were sent to the Lady Galway Guild. Stall-holders were appointed for the sale of work to be held in October. Afternoon tea was then served by Mesdames Kings and Mudgway, and the meeting closed with the Benediction by Mrs. Kennerley. * Apron competition winners were: — Fancy: Miss Moore; plain: Mrs. Kennerley. Mrs. Gfllespie judged the competitions..
