ANNUAL MEETING HELD The thirty-eighth anv.ual mecting of the Shannon Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., was held in Laurvig's Hall on Saturday after - noon. In presenting the directors' rcport, Mr. W. E. Barber, chairman ot directors, advised that the output for the season was 1233 tons oi' bufcter, being a decrease of 225 tons on last year, this being chiefly caused by the zoning back of Linton, Opiki and Tokomaru suppliers. The average butter-fat payment i'or the previous season was 19.94id, the advance for finest grade cream this past season was 18d and an extra payment of 2.875d was being made out of the appropriation account. The payment over all grades of cream was 17.963d, together with extra payment of of 2.875d plus veterinary levy of 1 ,05d and free exported and herd testing subsidy of ,009d, giving an average p&ymeat: uPvep^the , , season of 20.897d. The average grade for butter over the past season was 93.586. The store department saies amounted to £39,105 and a rebate of 3.i per cent. on shareholders' store accounts had been made over the twelve months, absorbing £715. In the farm cost alloWaiice. the sum of £37,095, being 3.904d pef pound on 2,300,323 lbs. butter-fat has been paid direct to suppliers covering the ten months' period from August to May. In concluding his report, Mr. Barber expressed regret in announcing the retirement of Mr. J. Crystali from the board of directors, after thirty years' service. Mr. Barber, on behalf of the share- j holders, thanked the staff for the efficient way in which they had carried out their duties during the year. The retiring directors were Messrs. J. Crystali and W. L. Carter. Nominations were received frcm Messrs. H. Aitchison and L. Fletcher. As the result of a ballot Messrs. Carter and Aitchison were appointed to the board of directors for the coming year. The board of directors now comprises Messrs. W. E. Barber (chairman), W. L. Car- . ter, R. J. Law, R. Hook, H. Aitchison, W. Moynihan and J. B. Gordon. It was decidcd that a letter of appreciation be written to Mr. E. Perry, the retiring store manager. for the very able and efficient manner in which he had carried out his . duties while on the staff, especially in the trying time over the war period.
