i Pcrsonal Messrs. G. Wood and E. Rolston 'have returned from a two weeks' ,holiday spent in the South Island. The condition of Mr. G. Mercer, who is an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital, is still much the same as when he was admitted :early this month. Miss Elva Hook, daughter of Mr. Roy Hook, Stafford Street, has been home for three weeks and is leaving on the Moreton Bay for Sydney : this week. The Moreton Bay was to have sailed on Saturday, but has been held up. The expected sailing date is now Wednesday or Thursday. Euehre Winners • The prize winners at the weekly euchre evening held by the Shannon . branch of the Labour Party in; Laurvig's Hall on Friday were I Mesdames Coulter and Peni and ' Mr. J. Sinclair. j Cribb Winners Winners of the Home Services' I Association's cribb tournamenc, j held in Laurvig's Hall on Wednes- j day evening, were Mrs. G. McEwan,j Senr. (ladies) and Mr. R. Sands i imen). The cribb evenings ' are | proving very popular and the j association intcnds to hold them i cach week.
