"THE JUDGMENT"

MR. C. C. GRAIIAM'S ADDRESeS In Hebrews 9:27 we read, "It is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgment." Judgment is therefore as certain as death itself. There are three judgments in the Scriptures which vitally concern us to-day. The first is the Judgment of Sin which took place at Calvary when the Lord Jesus was judged for our sins — became accountable to God for them, and when "He put awav sin by the sacrifice of Himself." The only thing required is that individually we acknowledge to God our , ^in and guilt. The person who does this then becomes a Christian. True,' the Christian must stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ, but here his sin will not be in question, not his salvation, but he will be rewarded for any service done and suffer loss for anything that has not been pleasing to God. The third and last judgmpnt which concems us is the Judgment of the Great White Throne (Rev. 20) before which "The dead small and great" must stand. This large host will comprise the unconverted who have failed to accept Christ as Saviour and who will be sentenced to etemal torment in the Lake of Fire. If there were no hell, then Christ would never have suffered on the Cross. We reap what we sow. If a man is foolish enough to put his finger in the fire he will be burnt. Poison likewise will kill. The nations also demand judgment and have instituted legal systems, magistrates and court-houses. They demand thS- pLui-ishmen.t of the lawbi?qakei:. It 'is- not therefore" tihfda^pnablej that God j Shjquld: ,als"Q g'udge man] whq has, bi'dkeh His' fla\v ^kn4 . come ' sl\ort glbw X4Rom., 3'f2&i.„ Christ Himself;- will, .be;. the Judge ( Acts 17 : 31T' ahd" ,hpne " -'escape, for He is . ©mriipresent — present when the sinner' broke the Law of God. Omniscient — perfect in knowledge and knows all about us. Omnipotent — all powerful, none being able to evade His punishment as is sometimes the case in our lands and courts. The Lord Jesus said in John 5: 24, "He that heareth my word and believeth 011 Him that sent me hath everlasting life ancl shall not come into judgment, but is passed from death unto life." Mr. C. C. Graham, evangelist, who gave this address to a crowded audience in the Oxford Street Gospel Hall on Sunday night, then pressed upon his hearers the urgency of coming to Christ, the Sa-viour and Friend, to-day. To-morrow might be too late and they would thus be forced to meet Him as Judge and be banished from His presence for evermore. Mr. Graham speaks to-night in the same hall at 7.30 p.m. on the subject of "Three Men Who Will Never be in Heaven." Also on Wednesday at 7.30 p.m. and Thursday in the Weraroa Anglican Hall at 7.30 p.m. All are invited.
