The Palmerston North btanch of the National Par'ty has' received so far, three norninai/ions ior the privilege of being its candidate at the forthcoming eleciions. They are from Messrs. A. E. Mansford jind L. I. Piimmer, of . Palmerston North, and Mr. L. G. King of Foxton. Nominations closed on Saturday but until the mail box is clearcd to-day, it will not be kn'own whether there are any more. When Mr. L. J. Wild, headmaster of the Feilding Agricultural High , School, mentioned at the headmasI ter's tea on SatUrday night, that it | was possibly the last yf such func- ! tions over which he would preside, ! it was taken as indicating his retirement at no distant date. Mr. Wild has been the head of Feilciing's Agricultural High School for 21 years and it has been due to his ihspiration that the school was founded as an experiment which time and resulfcs have proved to be more than warranted. A prominent figure in Taranaki musical circles for more than 30 years, Mr. Robert Neville Renaud died at his home, Dawson Street, New Plymouth, on Thursday. Mr. Renaud came to New Zealand more than 50 years ago and wherever he uved he played an important p,art m the musical activities of the community, but he made his greatest contribution at New Plymouth, where he was organist and ehoirmaster at St. Mary's Church for 31 years, and was associated with other organisations concerned with the development of musical appreciation.
