! A new picture theatre has now commeneed showing pictures again at Paraparaumu Beach and is • proving very popular. It will be ; remembered that -the former picture theatre was burno >down several months ago. There was a large meeting of the Paraparaumu branch of the Anglican Ladies' Church Guild. Mrs. Rickells was elected president and Mrs. Hoggard secretary. Arrangements for several church functions in the future were finalised. Afternoon tea was served. Mrs. Tyson, retiring secretary, was thanked for her work during • the past year. The alterations to the vicarage are going steadily ahead, and will soon be completed. Wintry conditions have prevalled of late. The weather has been cold, dull and wet.
