Dr. A. H. Wall, one of the bestknpwn rppdical praptibners in Wan.ganui, died on Friday, at the age of 73 years. He is survived by his wife and only daughter, Mrs. H. G. Carver, Wanganui. His only son, Mr. John Wall, was kifled in an accident on Mount Ruapehu i.3 years ago. In succession to Dr. W. A. Riddell, who Left New Zealand in May, Mr. A. Rive is expected to arrive in the Dominion at the end qf August to assume the duties of Canadian High Commissioner. The Canadian Trade Commissioner's section of the High Commissioner's Office will be transferred from Auckland to Wellington later in this year. A party of 94 returning 2nd N.Z.E.F. personnel, 12 adults and four children arrived from thei United Kingdom by the Moreton Bay yesterday. Among the nximber were Sgt. W. G. Phillips, husband of Mrs. W. G. Phillips, Trafalgar Street, Levin, and Lieut.-Colonel J. L. Porter, husband of Mrs. J. C. Porter, "Inverleith," Paekakariki. The sudden death occurred in Levin this morning of Mr. David Henry Weaver, of Queen Street. The late Mr. Weaver was born at Alexandra, Centi-al Otago, 56 years ago, and w&s the son of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Weaver. He was married at Dunedin and moved to Levin some years ago, joining the staff of the

Boys' Training Centre. Mr. Weaver was a very keen bandsman, being a long-standing member of the Levin Band before the war and again joining when it was revived a few weeks ago. He is survived by his widow and an adult family of two sons and two daughters.
