WELLINGTON, June 24. The annual meeting of the New ! Zealand Institute of Foresters de[cided upon the compilation of a glossary of forest terminology and [the development of a standard log [scale. It also decided that the institute should stress the need for sound forest practice as an essential in the solving of erosion problems. The following officers were elected: — President: Mr. O. Jones (Rotorua); vice-president: Mr. C. Sando (Wellington); secretary: Mr. A. D.. McKinnoh (Auckland); treasurer: Mr. A. C. Forbes (Wellington); council: Messrs J. F. Field (Invercargill), G. H. Hocking (Palmerston North), J. F. Lysaght (Rotorua), and R. B. Moorhouse (Putaruru).
