Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and Lady . Freyberg, acconipanied by their staff, will leave Wellington by ferry steamer on July 1, to pay short official.visijts to Christchurch and Dunedin. They return to Wellington on July 7. Miss Audrey Cooper, of Levin, has returned from a two weeks' holiday at Motuopa Lodge, National Park. Concluding his Dominion visit, Sir Keith Park left for Sydney on Saturday by an R.A.F. Short Sunderland fiying-boat. Lady Park, who is still indisposed, expects to fly to Australia ' next Thursday' to join Sir Keith. Following a deputation of Maori electors to the Leader . of the Opposition, Mr. S. G. Holland, Mr. Hoeroa Marumaru, has been selected as National Payty candidaffe for the Western Maori electorate. Mr. Marumaru is a farmer at Parewanui near Bulls. The appointment has been made i of Mr. W. O. Harvey as chief pri- I vate secretary and clerk of the Exe- ' cutiv-e Council as from April 1. He was on the staff of the Public Trust, Office from 1925 to 1936 when he , 'was transf^rred to the Prime Minis- I ter's Department as private secretary to the late Mr. Savage.
