BENEFIT DANCE

. There was a good gathering of dancers at the Druids' Hall on Saturday evening ior the Shannon Football Club's benefit dance, tne proceeds of which were in aid of Mr. Fred Callesen, a well-known junior player, who had the misfortune to fracture his leg while playing in a match at Foxton some weeks ago. During the evening, Mr. Ken Thomson, the captain of the junior team, thanked the public for their attendance, especially as the cause was a very good one. Mr. Thomson advisea that almost £20 had been taken, and this would help to tide Mr. Callesen over until he was able to get about again. Dancing was continued until midnight to the music of the local orchestra. Competition dances were {leld and a delightful supper was served by a willing band of helpers. Apart from the local dancers present, there were quite a number of visitors from Levin and Foxton.
