Received' Friday, 12 Noon ROME, June l'S, King Umberto and his suit^ left the Quirinal Palaefe this atternoon and travelled in five cars to Ciampind airport,vvhence they departed by* air for Lisbon. A Cabinet • communique claiming that the referendum result was already le^aily effecave, and declaring Signor de Gasperi provisional head of the State until the Constituent As•lembly meets on Jufie 25, was issued after a three'-hour discussion on a letter in which King Umberto uhdertook to abide by the Snpreme Coiirt's final verdict on the feferendum ■esults. The, communique apoealed to all i'talians to give the" Government their active patriotism and co-operation. Signor :le Gasperi stated he wOuld not ^ake f ull powers until the Supreme Court's final announcement which is expected on Thursday next. He added hat where urgent decrees leeded signing he would sign 'he mas "temporary Chief of State."
