LETTERS TO THE EDITOR

truth in politics Sir —There art still some people who talk foolish things about what the National Party will do when the pai;ty gains the Treasury Benches. The National Party will not cut pensions or wag.es; rather they will raise these to their true levels. It is the Labour Party that has cut pensions and wages by their inftation policy. According to leaders of the Labour Party the Reserve Bank £1 note only buys 10/- worth, so that a- married couple on the £4 a week pension are only drawing £2 purchase value. This is 10/- a week less than an aged couple received under the Massey Government. The National Party not only stands for a fair day's pay for a fair day's work, but also a share in the profits. The Labour Party did not initiate pensions for the aged, the widows and the infirm._ Its main contribution was to give it the glorified name of "Social SecurityC Yours etc., "STUDENT."
