PORTABLE X-RAY

The well known Hastings veteriuaiy surgeon, Mr. E. J. Cailaghan, has recently purchased abroad a portablo N-ray plant and this was used for the first time at the Flaxmere Stud recentty on a yearling suffering from a swollen joint. The X-ray photograph revealed no thing at all wroug with the joint. On the other Hand, when oue of Arabic 's lcgs was X-rayed it 'was shown to havo a split bone so that he will not be further persevered with. This plant is simpie to mahipulate, aud it is only a few minutes from the timo the photo is taken until the negativc is ready. This protablc X-ray for animals is the only oue in New Zealand and possibly m Australia us well.
