LEVIN LADIES PLAY OTAKI
DRAW FOR ONE -DAY MATCH The first inter-club match for some time was played last Friday between Otaki and Levin on the Otaki links. The visitors, though they found the going hard, as evidenced in the results, spent an enjoyable afternoon, and it is hoped that a return match will soon be arranged. The home players proved too strong for the visitors by winning 16 games to four, with one game halved." Following are the results, Levin players being mentioned first in each instance: — Singles: Miss Hosie beat Mrs. Bradford;1 Mrs. Hastedt' beat Miss Higginson, Mrs. Franklin lost to Mrs. Simcox, Mrs. Black lost to Mrs. Winterburn, Mrs. Denton lost to Mrs. Anderson, Mrs. Richards lost to Mrs. Lea, Mrs. M. Wilson lost to Mrs. Rzoska, Mrs. Keenan lost to Miss Lea, Mrs. Scott lost to Miss Elliott, Mrs. McClune lost to Mrs. Sutherland, Mrs. Standen lost to Mrs. Morton, Mrs. Hunter lost to Miss Henshaw, Mrs. Fredricksen beat Miss Clarke and Mrs. . Ryder lost to Miss Swabey. Fourballs: Miss Hosie and Mrs. .Hastedt beat Mrs. Bradford and Miss Higginsori and Mesdames Denton and Richards halved with Mesdames Anderson and Lea. The remainder of the four-ball games were won by the Otaki players. A dainty afternoon tea was served by the Otaki ladies, at the conclusion of which, the president (Mrs. Wilson) , on behalf of the Gtaki - players, expressed their appreciation and pleasure- at the presence ,of the Levin ladies, and hoped' that the enjoyable day .spent would be the forerunner of many more similar' inter-club .matches. The Levin captain (Mrs. Fredricksen), suitably replied", expressing thanks . for the hdspitable . manner iri which' the Otaki players had entertained her team. She also extended an invitation to the Otaki Ladies' Golf Club to attend the oneday open tournament to- be run by the Levin Ladies' Club on June 3, and hoped that.. as many as possible would be able to make the trip. The competition for this week will be a one:-day club match on May 22, the draw beirig as foilows: — Mrs. Black and Mrs. Fredricksen, Mesdames . Franklin and . Ryder, Mesdames Hastedt and M. Wilson, Mesdames McClune and Scott, Mesdames Richards and Denton, Mesdames Hunter and- Walker, Mrs. Wyatt and Miss Wils.on and Mrs. Nichols and Mrs. Clarke. . At the
week-end: Mesdames Porter arid Lynch and Mrs. Keenan and Miss Nalder. Any players who have not yet played their matches in the first round of the Park . Rose Bowl are iirged to do so as soon as possible as the first round must be completed before the commence-, ment of the second round on Mon- ' day, May 27. The draw for therC grade competition to be played next Saturn day is as foilows: — Miss Franklin i and Mrs. Wilson-Grant, Misses I Kilsby and M.
