TURBINE DRIVEN BY ATOMIC POWER
Reeeived Sunday, 7.45 p.m. NEW YORK, May 4. Dr. Farringdon Daniels, director of the Unive'rsity of Chicago metailurgical laboratory, has announced that an atomic power experimental plant would he built at Oakrjdge, Tennessee. "We have reaehed the bliieprint stage and will soon have the turbine spinning on power supplied by a small pile of uranium," he said, adding that the atomic reactors which would he used eould not compete economically with coal hut knowledge might be gained which would bring the competitive point nearer. •
