Upon the reading of the annual report of the-- brigade- superintendent (Mr. S:aIm,ons.) •, the question of the supply of ho,se was raised-. The superintendent asked that the. board communicate "v;ith the Public: Works Department in regard to the supply of 1.QA0 feet of hose, which had been promised some time agou The present available quantity of hose would' not be sufficient with the continuance of a dry spell, andi with the growth of the borough. ■Mr. Parker informed the boardi that the recent forest fire's" hadi taken up practically all stocks of hose in the North Island. A^ter further discussion, it was decided to write to the Inspector of Fire Brigades, Mr. R. Girling Butcher, about the matter; ..
