A motion of sympatny was passed :with Mrs. .Williams, who had recentiy lost- her son, all members standing in silence. Apologies for absence were received .from Mesdames Gawl-er and T. Peterson. A letter was read from headquart.ers asking all members t.o assist' with the food for Britaiin. campaign, members- agre.ehig to forfeit coupons for this- purpose. Am invita-tion for members to attend the June meeting of the Levin WX was received, the guest speaker at which would be Mrs. L. Horn, tne Dominion secretary. ! Mrs. J. Griffith gave a. c.omprei hensive report of the meeting of the Southern District Federation Coun- | cil meeting at Paraparaumu re- | cently. She was accorded a hearty | vote of thahks. Griffith 1, Mrs. Hagan 2, Mrs. Evans 3. Best spray of flowers: Mrs. Field 1, Mrs. Hagan >2, Mrs. Evans 3., President's competiition for four pikelets: Mrs. Evans 1, Mrs. Field. 2, Mrs. J. Griffith 3. The competitions for the June meeting will be a jug of berries, a demonstratfon and 3d mystery paircel for institute funds. The president presented gifts pf flower s to six meiiibers, who ha.d birthdays in May, wishing them many happy returns. . The singing of the National Anthem brought the meeting to a close.
