The police discovered them 011 Saturday morning and recovered them in a dinghy b.v whieh : timo the tide had eovered the sack and . the cigar ettes were worthless. A search was then made of the ship and in the stcering room in the stern another 30,000 were reeovered. Many ' of the cartons were eovered with oil ; and grease, but most ot the cigarettes were in good condition. Apparently, as a direet result of the police search a number of other cartons were thrown : overboard, and on Sunday '' a police , lounch recovered a large quantity hopelessly ruined in the liarbour. .
