McLAGAN FOR RICCARTON
■V CHRISTCHURCH, May 1. An=>announcement that Hon. Angus McLagan, M.L.C., until recently Minister of the Nation al Bervice Depart.ment in whieh he is eontinuing with administrative Avork, had coiisented to nomination for selection as a Labour candidate for the Riccarton seat at the general election,-was made tonight by Mr. J. Colligan, president of the Riccarton branch of the Labour. Party. 1 ' Mr. McLagan was approached by mc as president of the branch and gave me his assurance that he would stand as a candidate if selected/' said Mr. Cofli gan. "The selection committee of the Labour Representation Committee has been formed and his name has gone for ward to that committee for recom mendation to the National Executive which selects the eandidates. I have no doubt that the National Executive wili select Mr. McLagan as the candidate for Riccarton."
