BOWLS CLOSING

The bowling season so far as -the Otaki Club is concerned will be officialiy closed on Saturday, after which the green will be top-dressed and otherWise given attention. The club has had a very successful season. In the morning the match for the Olliver Memorial Shield will be played betWeen Otaki and Otaki Railway, with six rinks a side. The games should prove very enjoyable. On the last occasion when the shield was competed for Otaki secured a substantial lead, but the Railway Club hopes to turn the tables. The Railway Club has closed its green to play, and it has now been prepared for the next season, when it is expected to be in tip-top condition. The Otaki team will be as follows, players to be on the green by 10 a.m.: — Bailey, Parata, Booth, Southgate (s); Hannah, Jepson, Knox, Enoka (s) ; Higginson, Horn, Symonds, Webster (s) ; Tanner, Rolfe, Kelly, Rule (s). Junior rink: Rich, Dixon, Baxter, T. Webster (s).
