Pcrson&l Mr. J. Miller will enter the Palmerston North Hospital next week to undergo an operation. Mr. and Mrs. Whitehorn, of Auckland, are at present on a visit to Otaki. Miss E. Rasmusseh, of Wanganui, who has been visiting Otaki, has returned home. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Kendrick are at present enjoying a holiday in Auckland. Mr. W. James, son of Mr. James, headmaster at the Otaki State School, has returned to Wanganui, after a holiday in Otaki. Miss Edith James, a daughter, and of the staff of the Wanganui Hospital, has also returned to Wanganui after a holiday in Otaki. It is pleasing to report that Flight-Lieut. Keith Smith, son ot Mr. and Mrs. L. Smith, of Te Horo, who was unfortunate enough to be che victim of a 'plane crash in Italy and who was in hospital there, has now been discharged from the institution little the worse for the mishap. Quick Service Peace stainps posted airmail in Otaki on April 1 were sent to England and a reply was received in Otaki on the 23 to say they had arrived safely. Farewell Gathering A farewell dance to men going overseas with J-Force will be held at Manakau on Saturday next. Those to be farewelled are Ian and Lloyd Robinson. Victory Ball The Otaki Patriotic Committee, which organised and most abiy carried out social functions during the war period, will hold the finai gathering on May 24, a first-class orchestra having at last been secured. Arrangements are in very capable hands and a record attendance is expecte'd.
