HORSE CLUB SPORTS

The Otaki and District Horse Club held a most successful paddock sports meeting on the properties of Messrs. W. and K. Taylor, at Hautere, oh Easter Saturday. There was a large gathering of enthusiasts and friends present, arid all had a very enjoyable day's sport. The' jumping events were keenly contested, the jumping being of a high standard, while the novelty events caused much excitement, both for competitors and spectators alike. Following are the successful prizg winners in the various events:— Maiden jump: J. McBeth's Star 1, S. Denton's Tobetan Star 2, L. McBeth's Highgate 3; thirteen entries. Bradbury 1, L. Mansell 2. Pony jump, 14.2 hands and under, riders 15 years and, under: L. Mansell 1, A. Brook 2, C. -Blake 3. Open flag race: J. Morah (McBeth) 1, C. Blake (Meg) 2. Open jumps: S. Denton's Trixie 1, ! A. Denton's- Major 2, C. Lutz's I Golden Beauty 3. ! Gretna Green: Margaret White 1, Mrs. Tilbury 2. . Addition race: Mrs. Tilbury and Mr. D. C. Blake 1 (equal) .
