NEW ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES .
FEDERATED FARMERS LODGE OBJECTION When asked to-day for the vifews of the Manawatu provincial dxecutive of Federated Farmers on the proposed change in the boundaries of the Otaki electorate, the president, Mr. H. J. McLeavey,, advised ch'at the matter had been disCusSed this week in Palmerston North ana it had been decided to lodge an objection to the commission on one anomalous point. Mr. McLeavey said that the ground for the objectidn was that in the proposed change a natural boundary, the Manawatu River, had been disregarded. In consequence a section of the electors, whose natural and traditional town had always been Levin, had been transferred to an electorate in which they had no community of interest. It- was . contended that; the northern boundary, of the Otaki electorate should follow the Manawata River from the coast, thence to follow, 3ay. Buckley Road, south of Shannon, *4,0 the Tararuas. Mfs McLeavey pointed out that this would be possible if a portion pf the southern end of the electorate, which had no interest in Levin, were transferred to one of the Wellington electorates.
